Mitsubishi Electric has taken on LG Electronics and FUJITSU, with the unveiling of its new Wi-Fi controlled air conditioning units, featuring Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant support.
The products leverage Australians’ growing smart home ecosystem, allowing Amazon Echo and Google Home users to check the weather and adjust the air-con using voice commands.
Users are required to connect their Alexa or Google smart speaker account with Mitsubishi Electric Wi-Fi Control – the air con is discoverable alongside other smart home devices in the smart speaker’s app.
Mitsubishi Electric Australia National Product Manager, Atesh Mani, asserts the new voice control feature is a milestone for the company, developed in response to consumer demand:

“The addition of Amazon Alexa and Google Home compatibility to Mitsubishi Electric Wi-Fi Control provides our customers with a Smart Air Conditioning solution.”
“The ability to use a device to turn your air conditioner off remotely that is left on accidentally or the ability to precool or preheat your home before you get there can save energy by preventing excessive use.”
The new voice control feature is available in Mitsubishi Electric split systems, ducted, and commercial City Multi air conditioning units installed with a Wi-Fi adapter.
