Lenovo and Motorola are gearing up to make a fresh play for the low-end of the smartphone market Alcatel are usually known for with a new range, rumored to be branded as Moto C.

According to VentureBeat’s notorious tech leaks specialist Evan Blass, who revealed the existence of the range, the Moto C will boast a 2350mAh battery, while the C Plus notches that aspect of the handset up to an impressive 4000mAh.

Both the Moto C and Moto C Plus will tout 5-inch displays and 1.3Ghz quad-core MediaTek processors. However,  the Plus will bump the quality of the display from non-HD to 720p. It’ll also offer LTE compatibility where the standard Moto C only comes with 3G and 4G support.

Blass says that the RAM will vary between 1GB and 2GBs for both the Moto C and Moto C Plus, depending on region.

Last but not least, he says the Moto C will “feature a 5-megapixel rear camera and a with flash (fixed-focus on 3G, auto-focus with 4G), along with a 2-megapixel selfie cam that also has a flash. The Moto C Plus uses the same front-facing camera configuration, but increases the main image sensor’s resolution to 8 megapixels.”

No word yet on Australian pricing and availability for the range.
