HMD Global has announced local availability of the Nokia 3.1 – a $249 smartphone which claims to be one of Australia’s cheapest Android One devices.
Featuring an anodised metal frame, the 3.1 is Nokia’s most affordable 18:9 smartphone, and is the brand’s forth device to join the Android One family.
The Nokia 3.1 is set to land at JB Hi-Fi and Harvey Norman from August 2nd, with the later exclusively ranging a Blue/Copper version.
Incorporating a 5.2-inch HD+ display and Corning Gorilla Glass 3, the device features a 13MP auto-focus rear camera and MediaTek 6750 octa-core chipset.
Under the hood, the phone claims to offer a 50% performance boost versus the predecessing device.
As an added sweetener, the 3.1 pledges three years of monthly security patches and two years of OS updates.

The Nokia 3.1 (16GB) is available in either Black/Chrome, White/Iron from JB Hi-Fi, with the Blue/Copper variant stocked exclusively at Harvey Norman.
