A new filing by the FCC in the US shows the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 9 S-stylus will have Bluetooth capabilities.
According to Droid Life, the S Pen will connect to the Note 9 over 2.4GHz Bluetooth LE. Its model number is EJ-PN960, the 960 matches the Note 9 model number of SM-N960.
This means the S Pen could be multi-purpose meaning it could be used to answer calls or change tracks but this is all speculation.
Samsung has all but confirmed its Galaxy Note 9 launch on August 9 with the Korean company saying, “Samsung Electronics will welcome a new member to the premium Galaxy family.” There was also a video to accompany the invitation but that since has been removed.
The new phone is expected to have a 6.38-inch display, slightly bigger than the current model’s 6.32-inches. It is also rumoured to have a in-screen fingerprint scanners but some commentators say that feature won’t be ready in time.
Thankfully, August 9 is in 5 weeks time so there isn’t too long to see the new Note device.
