A new palm-size stereo amplifier has hit our shores, with maker, Trends Audio, claiming it offers high-fidelity sound at a compact size and price.
The amp uses Tripath’s proprietary Class-T digital amplification technology, outputing 15-watts per channel into 4O with a claimed 81 percent efficiency. A pair of single-ended RCA inputs are available along with “WBT style” speaker terminals. Operating at 12-volts, supplied by the external power supply, the amp is also able to be powered by batteries.
According to distributor, COEM Audio, Trends Audio is one of its many “high-end Chinese Hi-Fi” brands, and that although Chinese products tend to have an associated low-quality stigma; its brands offer good value for money.
The company also says the Trends TA-10 amplifier can be combined with high-efficiency loudspeakers or can be used as a second system or computer setup.
RRP: $199.
