During its E3 launch, Sony PlayStation showcased several new games coming to its PS4 console including, The Last of Us Part II, Death Stranding, Ghost of Tsushima and Spider-Man.
This was expected as PlayStation had no intentions of releasing a new console for 2018. But do not fear, these games fill that console-shaped hole.
All of these games have been spoken about prior to the release but during the presentation PlayStation dug deeper on the games with lengthy trailers and walk-throughs.
The Last of Us Part II has been long awaited with developer Naughty Dog showing protagonist Ellie’s soft side with her girlfriend and her not-so-soft side in combat. Watch the first ever gameplay trailer below.
Death Stranding created by iconic game designer Hideo Kojima focuses around Sam Bridges (The Walking Dead’s Norman Reedus) who is combating a ‘world utterly transformed by the Death Stranding’. Bridges goes on a journey to ‘reunite the shattered world one step at a time.’ Apparently there are a lot of babies, so there is that to look forward to.
Ghost of Tsushima is set way back in 1274, where the Mongol Empire invades the Japanese island of Tsushima and slaughters its legendary samurai defenders. You play Jin Sakai, one of the last survivors of a samurai clan who needs to find the way of The Ghost to wage a war for his Japanese people.
Spider-Man is what many people are calling the new ‘Arkham Asylum’ and at first glance it sure looks that way. Watch the showcase below and be mystified how fast this game is. This game has a release date: September 7, this could be a US date but its a date nonetheless.
Other games showcased during E3 included Kingdom Hearts III, Destiny 2: Forsaken, Control and Resident Evil 2 plus VR games Déraciné and Trover Saves The Universe.
E3 runs until June 14.
