The principle shareholder in technology publisher Derwent Howard, who is set to publish a magazine for family grocers Woolworths and their subsidiary Dick Smith, has moved into the porn listing business with a new magazine that facilites links to “kinky fun and fetish sex”.
The Sexy.Net magazine lists all sorts of perversion as well as the sale of sex toys and adult DVD’s is owned by a Company called S&D Pty Ltd. The principle shareholder is Jim Flynn one of the founders of Derwent Howard.
Flynn is also the owner of magazines that are published about Nintendo and Sony products. Earlier this month Derwent Howard who were dumped by Future Media of the UK in 2008 won a contract to publish Tech Living magazine for Dick Smith stores.
There is also a web site called sexy.net but it is not known whether this site is owned by S&D Pty Ltd.
And in another strange twist, several Derwent Howard titles that are listed on their Company web site are also listed under a new Company called Media Factory Pty Ltd at the iSubscribe web site www.isubscribe.com.au/publisher.cfm?pubID=271 .
Both the Derwent Howard, The Media Factory and porn publisher S&D Pty Ltd have the same registered address at Vlahos & Co Chartered Accountants at Parramatta Road Stanmore NSW.
Director and secretary of Media Factory is shown in ASIC documents as Flynn, James Derwent, of 17 William Street, Balmain NSW. He is listed as being born on 21 Aug 1972 -London UK. Appointed Date: 26 Mar 2009.
Listed as a director on the S&D Pty Ltd; ASIC documents is a Jim Flynn who also lives at the same address as, Flynn, James Derwent and is born on the same day as the founder of Derwent Howard.
The Sexy.Net magazine which is sold in the porn section of newsagents and at porn shops lists lesbian and gay web sites as well as Amateur and fetish sex along with advertising for phone in sex, chat services. Described as the “Ultimate Guide to the World’s most erotic websites” the magazine sells for $9.95.
Derwent Howard who last year lost all their Future Media titles claims that it is a privately owned Australian company that was founded in 2001.
Two years ago they were listed as one of the fastest growing companies in Australia by the leading business magazine BRW.
They claim to have a portfolio of machines including the new Dick Smith Tech Living Magazine which encompasses 15 regular monthly and bi monthly magazines.
A receptionist at Derwent Howard said that Jim Flynn was still a director of Derwent Howard and that he was currently not available as he was “in a meeting”.
