Amazon-owned Ring has launched its new Indoor/Outdoor Stick Up Camera ($319) in Australia, with users able to position the camera virtually anywhere “regardless of power availability.”
The product is Ring’s first indoor/outdoor camera in Australia, with the Stick Up Cam line marketed as an affordable and easy-to-install home security solution – suitable for both inside and outside the home.
The new Ring Stick Up Cam is weatherproof with an IPX5 rating, and comes in both a wired and battery powered model.
Outdoor users can also purchase a solar powered version, sold as a bundle for $399. The panel claims to recharge the camera battery with just a few hours of daily direct sunlight.
Video is captured in FullHD 1080p resolution with a wide-angle 150-degree horizontal and 85-degree vertical lens.
With remote app control, users can also integrate with the cameras via Alexa voice controls.
Ring Chief Inventor and Founder, Jamie Siminoff, asserts the cameras offer “maximum flexibility”, with users able to “secure every corner” of their property.
Siminoff affirms it’s important to have “multiple layers” of home security, with the Stick Up Cam an affordable and versatile option.
Alongside night vision capabilities, users can set customisable motion detection zones via the Google Play or iOS Ring app.
The camera boasts two-way communication functionality, coupled with a remote-activated siren.
Ring’s Indoor/Outdoor Stick Up (wired and battery options) is now available to purchase from several Australian retailers including; Officeworks, Bing Lee, Harvey Norman, JB Hi-Fi, Bunnings and Amazon.com.au.
