Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ owners in Australia will soon be able to buy the DeX dock accessory that lets the company’s flagship smartphones act as mini desktop PCs.
A listing for the Samsung DeX on the Harvey Norman website (via Ausdroid) suggests it will launch in Australia in July at the previously confirmed price of $199.
DeX allows users to connect a monitor, keyboard and mouse to the Galaxy S8 or S8+ and use a version of Android redesigned for a desktop environment.
Samsung collaborated with companies like Microsoft and Adobe to help deliver desktop-like functionality to apps like Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat Reader mobile.
The accessory features two USB 2.0 inputs and an output to HDMI, as well as an Ethernet input, USB-C power input and a cooling fan.
A specific date for Samsung DeX’s launch within the month of July has not been announced.
