Samsung has moved to take on LG Electronics directly in the 8K TV market by giving away an $1,400 Samsung S10+ with the purchase of one of their new 8K QLED TV’s.
Pre orders for the top end Samsung TV offering are open from 14th of March for a TV range that was praised at the recent CES show in Las Vegas.
Samsung have also announced pricing for their 8K TV’s.

Currently LG is showing their key Asia Pacific TV and appliance retailers around a Sydney house in Cremorne NSW which has been taken over by LG global management for several days to showcase their 2019 products.
Also, on show is an 8K NanoCell TV with visitors to the event shown native 8K content playing on all of LG’s 8K TV’s.
The decision by Samsung to reveal their 8K TV pricing 24 hours ahead of LG as well as their attractive pre order offer has not been lost on LG management.
Samsung Electronics Australia said it is the first time local pricing and availability of its Q900 QLED 8K television range have been announced.
The Q900 range will be offered in 82-inch, 75-inch and 65-inch screen sizes, designed to meet Australian demand for larger screen formats that also provide incredible performance customers have come to expect from Samsung.
Pre-orders for the Samsung QLED 8K range will open this Thursday (March 14), before availability to purchase in retail stores nationally from April 1, 2019. Customers who pre-order[1] any Samsung QLED 8K from Samsung’s online store will receive a bonus Samsung Galaxy S10+ smartphone

To achieve 8K resolution, the Samsung 8K QLED produces four times more pixels than a 4K UHD TV and 16 times more pixels than a full HD TV.
The Samsung QLED 8K integrates HDR10+ and Ultra Bright III to manage the TV’s contrast and colour. Brightness levels are optimised to help ensure content is displayed beautifully and consistently in almost any lighting conditions. HDR 10+ also minimises the impact of glare and reflection in many of Australia’s sun-filled rooms.
Samsung QLED 8K comes with AI Upscaling that uses the power of machine learning to analyse and upscale content to 8K resolution[2], to help optimise the viewing experience. Despite the limited native 8K content currently available, the 8K Quantum Processor can recognise and upscale all content whether through a streaming service, set-top box, HDMI, USB or even mobile mirroring to appear in 8K resolution. In addition, the QLED 8K range features Direct Full Array Elite for enhanced contrast and precise backlighting control.

Samsung will announce further information regarding its 2019 TV range including its 4K QLED and UHD TVs in early April.
