Samsung has launched a new 49-inch ultra-wide HDR monitor featuring the company’s QLED panel technology.
The big CHG90 monitor features a 32:9 ‘super ultra-wide’ aspect ratio as well as a big price tag, with the recommended price set at $2,499.95 in Australia.
Samsung Electronics Australia’s Director for Enterprise and Small Business Paul Sharpe said the monitor was designed to meet the needs of both gamers and business users.
“The Samsung CHG90 monitor will provide a rich and immersive experience for users through the combination of our QLED panel technology, brilliantly curved design, as well as fantastic performance with support for HDR and fast response time,” said Sharpe said.
Roughly equivalent to having two 27-inch 16:9 monitors side by side, the CHG90 features a 3840×1080 resolution and a 1800R curvature.
Other technical features include a 144Hz refresh rate that can be adjusted to 60Hz or 120Hz if required and a 1ms response time. Connectivity options include two HDMI ports, a DisplayPort and audio out.
“We believe the level of immersion through the curved design, the wide field of view due to the size of the panel, as well as its QLED pixel technology, will help change the way Australians think about monitors, whether they gamers or at work,” Sharpe said.
The Samsung CHG90 will be available at Harvey Norman and other selected retailers from early November.
