Amongst a slew of product announcements, Samsung has released its latest ‘field-ready’ device, the Galaxy XCover FieldPro, with military specifications for physically demanding environments.
While no pricing or availability information is available, Samsung did provide a complete specification list for the rugged Galaxy XCover FieldPro, which comes with IP68 rating for water and dust resistance.
The device also passes military specification (MIL-STD-810G) testing against a subset of 21 specific environmental conditions, of which measured the phone’s durability under temperature changes, dust, shock and vibration, as well as low pressure and high altitudes.
Even the Samsung Knox security platform is CJIS, HIPAA and FIPS compliant, certified for use by the federal government.
Security-wise, the XCover FieldPro uses an ergonomic rear fingerprint scanner for biometric authentication.
Sporting a replaceable 4,500mAh battery that can be swapped out in the field with the included back up battery.
Plus with Pogo Pin charging, ‘running low on charge is never a concern.’
The Galaxy XCover FieldPro features physical navigation buttons below the 5.1-inch QHD display with a resolution of 2560×1440.
Powered by Samsung Exynos 9810, with 4GB of memory and expandable storage up to 512GB from the internal 64GB.
