September is shaping up to be a big smartphone month with both Apple and Samsung set to go head to head in a brutal new smartphone marketing battle that could deliver millions in revenue for retailers and carriers in Australia.
Insiders claim that Apple has delayed their iPhone 6 launch until September 26th (on sale date), this suites Samsung who is tipped to launch a new Galaxy F smartphone with a metal back that is similar to the new iPhone 6 4.7″ model which will be called the iPhone Air due to its 6.7cm thickness. The larger 5.5″ model will be around 7mm thick.
Of late Samsung smartphones have had a plastic casing however the new Samsung F model may come with a 16 megapixel camera and an aluminium body.
Apple had originally planned a September 19 launch for their two new iPhone 6 models, however manufacturing sources in China have said that this date has slipped.
Pricing for the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 model will be around $900 with the larger 5.5″ model costing $100 more than the 4.7″ model.
The new Samsung Galaxy F model will have an aluminium spun-metal back with a free plastic back included in the pack.
Some insiders are reporting that the3 new device will also come with a 16-megapixel camera with OIS (optical image stabilization) and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera.
Also built in will be a 2.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor, 3 GB of RAM and a 5.3-inch QHD (1440×2560 pixel) display screen.
The Super AMOLED QHD display model is (72.5 mm x 142 mm) in size which is similar to the Galaxy S5 it will also be waterproof.
