With many mobile phones on the market featuring hard drives and music players, it’s no wonder that the next step in the audio docking station game is a system with a cradle for your mobile phone instead of your iPod. And this is what Sony Ericsson has come up with – the MDS-70 Home Audio System.
Your compatible Sony Ericsson phone sits on the little docking station (much like an iPod sits in a speaker docking station) as the music source for the audio system. The system itself features an S-Master digital amplifier, neodymium speaker units and subwoofer as well as graphic equalizer and surround-mode by digital signal processor.
You can control the system via the remote control or directly from the unit. The system will also automatically charge your mobile while docked. The MDS-70 is compatible with all Sony Ericsson mobile phones with a fast port connector. It features a line-in connection as well, so you can connect other audio devices to the system also.
Not to be confused with portable stereo products on offer, such as Motorola’s stylishly impressive JBL On Tour portable Bluetooth stereo system or Nokia’s MD-1 Music Stand, Sony Ericsson’s version complete with subwoofer looks to be the first dedicated home audio system for your mobile. Smart idea Sony. However if you are after a more portable solution for your Sony Ericsson mobile phone, try the MDS-60 Music Desk Stand.
RRP: MDS-70 $412
