Sony and Telstra have announced that a partnership between the two will see the new Xperia XZ Premium smartphone available through the telco at a discounted price.
The Xperia XZ Premium is available from Telstra today, priced at A$1,056 RRP. It’s also available through a number of plans and through Optus, Virgin Mobile, Vodafone, JB Hi-Fi and Sony’s online store.
Boasting a HDR-ready 4K display, Snapdragon 835 processor and 19-megapixel camera – the XZ Premium is basically a souped-up take on the featureset of last year’s XZ.
The partnership has also seen the smartphone awarded with Telstra’s Blue Tick rated – meaning it delivers superior coverage in rural and regional Australia.
Nicholas Broomfield GM of Product at Telstra, said the company is excited to offer their customers the latest innovation from Sony Mobile.
“Our smartphones undergo rigorous testing to ensure they deliver high quality coverage performance for our customers before being given a Blue Tick rating. The Xperia XZ Premium is the latest Blue Tick device to become available at Telstra and combined with gigabit-capability it offers customers the latest features in smartphone technology.”
Sony are similarly happy about the news.
Managing Director of Sony Mobile Oceania John Featherstone says that “the Xperia XZ Premium is our most technologically capable smartphone ever featuring a number of world-first hero specifications. The 4G Blue tick certification and 4GX technology ensures customers have the most advanced smartphone experience available in the market.”
The Xperia XZ is available through Telstra at a price of $1056 and through Optus, Virgin Mobile, Vodafone, JB Hi-Fi and Sony’s online store for $1099.
