Encore part II is here for $399.As Lenovo ditches Windows tablets, Toshiba unwrap Encore 2 – a 10.1-inch Windows 8.1 tablet.
The device is the follow up to the first Encore tablet released by the PC brand last year.
The release comes as Lenovo ditches the Windows consumers tablet in the US, due to lack of demand although the Microsoft operated devices are selling well in Asian markets.
Available in 32GB and 64GB models, Encore 2 is flagged as an affordable, powerful tablet running Intel quad-core processor and Microsoft 8.1 platform, targeted at student and workers on the go.
On sale this month, the 32GB Encore 2 cost $399 and $499 for the 64GB model, slightly pricier than the original 64GB Encore that sold for $459.
Encore 2 can be hooked up to external keyboard or any Bluetooth enabled device, for notebook-like capabilities with an 8 hour battery life, stereo speakers with Dolby Digital Plus audio.
The Microsoft Windows 8.1 tablet also has 5 megapixel rear camera that takes HD images, Micro USB 2.0 and microSD slot to expand memory.
