ADNews is reporting that Universal Music has decided on a winner for its $10 million dollar media buying business.
The advertising industry magazine claims that the long-term incumbent mediadge:cia has retained the business, however sources close to the pitch suggested a global review of Universal Music’s media account could be on the cards in 2009.
Universal Music GM marketing Tim Kelly declined to comment on the pitch decision or on suggestions a global pitch may take place next year. Adrian Smith, general manager at mediaedge:cia, also declined to comment when contacted by AdNews.
According to Nielsen Media AIS, Universal Music Australia spent an estimated $8.2 million on main media between June 2007 and May this year, with the total media business thought to be worth over $10M.
