The Xbox 360 goes on sale at midnight tonight, Wednesday 23 March, at Sydney’s Pitt St Mall.
Crowds can expect food, drinks, entertainment by street performers and LCD screens set up to try out the wireless controller and games before midnight. Channel V will be filming the festivities and Nova 96.9 will be broadcasting live from the mall from 9pm.
An incentive to get out there tonight is that the Pitt St EB Games store will be giving away a free game to all customers purchasing the console after midnight. The store is located in Westfield Centrepoint, corner of Pitt and Market streets.
Based on its pre-order figures, Microsoft is expecting between $30-$40 million worth of Xbox 360 consoles and games to go through cash registers at the launch.
