A 3D animated children’s book about Larry, an Australian lizard, is now on sale in the Apple iPad store, after former advertising industry executive, Graham Nunn, got approval from Apple to sell the Australian-developed book online.
Aimed at 1-5 year olds the book has been written specifically for the iPad said Nunn.
Unlike conventional books, the reader is asked to play an active part in the story by tapping images in the book.
When you give Larry a poke, said Nunn, he wakes up and the 3D animation takes over, with Larry disappearing behind trees or simply lazing on a rock in the hot Australian sun.
Selling for US$4.99, the book will be one of the first Australian-developed books to be available when the iPad goes on sale in Australia later this month.
Graham Nunn said “It’s great the book has been approved and has just gone on sale on the iTunes Apps store (US$4.99) you can view it on the local store but can’t buy it here yet. Now comes the hard part – marketing it”.
