Pioneer Electronics executives have said nothing in public about a move to LCD TV but behind the scenes they have admitted that discussions have taken place with recent investor, the Sharp Corporation, about the possibility of a Pioneer branded LCD TV being launched this year. At their 2008 press conference, the focus was totally plasma with the company looking to jump on the “thin-is-in” TV trend by announcing a 50-inch super-thin (9mm) plasma panel.
