An undisclosed number of AEG-branded dishwashers from distributor Andi-Co Australia have been recalled due to faults which, in extreme cases, could cause fire.Models FAVORIT40760 with PNC 911915612/01 and FAVORIT44080IM with PNC 911925634/01 with serial number ranges 71900000 and 72399999 are being recalled, according to the ACCC.
It is not clear when the models were sold, or at which retail outlets.
“A wire connector within the appliance may, in extreme cases, overheat and cause a small self contained fire within the control panel. Product failure will result,” said the company.
Customers who own one of the affected models are encouraged to call Andi-Co on 1300 650 020 to arrange a service technician call, free-of-charge.
“If your dishwasher is affected, do not operate it when unattended or use the delayed start program and switch it off at the power point when the cycle is complete until it has been checked,” said the company.
A spokesperson for Andi-Co was unavailable for comment prior to publication.
