Apple will be fixing an issue where Siri reads out hidden notifications from the lock screen for various apps when prompted.

When users ask Siri to read notifications the digital AI assistant will read all notifications on all apps no matter if they are hidden or not.

In a statement to MacRumors Apple says, “We are aware of the issue and it will be addressed in an upcoming software update.”

The fix will be in either the iOS 11.3 which is currently in beta testing or in an upcoming minor update.

MacRumors says this issue does not affect iMessage.

When notifications appear on the lock screen for iPhones and iPads they either show the title and contents from the app for example, a message from someone and what they’ve sent you or just the name of the app and word notification.

For iPhone 8 and later models users can determine whether they want the notifications to be seen on lock screen or only shown when the phone is unlocked. For the iPhone X all notifications are hidden until unlocked with Face ID.
