Philippe Starck (pictured) is working on a “big project together that will be out in eight months” in conjunction with Apple, he told French Info radio this week.
But the four-time married designer says he is unable to say anymore due to “religious cult of secrecy” (which he has now firmly broken).
Starck insists he is designing a “revolutionary” device – despite the fact Apple says this is nonsense, according to AllthingsD.
But there is some truth in what the designer is saying.
According to the Steve Jobs biography penned by Walter Isaacson, Starck had been commissioned by the now deceased Apple CEO to create a “sleek and minimalist” luxury yacht for the Jobs family, complete with 40 foot long glass walls.
Famous designer Starck designs everything from hotel interiors, an optical mouse for Microsoft and Telefunken clock radio, so it is anyone guess what the New York based designer has up his sleeve if le grand Apple project – that’s not a yacht -is a reality.
Some are tipping the revolution could be referring to Apple TV. Or it could be a new iPhone (5 perhaps?) which probably could do with an edgy makeover.
Apple denied the story, claiming no new project is in the pipeline, courtesty of Starck.
