SYDNEY – And, speaking of smartwatches – some of which are smarter than others – Slingstone PR reports that client eWay has launched an app that lets Aussie Apple Watch users make payments with a flick of the wrist .as long as the merchant involved is set up with an eWay SmartPos device. But it also requires a credit card.Slingstone reckons the app will allow merchants to
accept payments anywhere, including a market stall, or a tradie doing a job at
a house.
A typical example, according to Slingstone: “An online merchant may have a
pop-up stall at a market. They would initiate the payment from the Apple
Watch eWay app; then the customer would tap their credit or debit card on the
eWay smartPOS device the merchant has in the other hand.
“The transaction processes through eWay’s gateway securely and quickly –
and the merchant’s inventory and accounting are updated in real time.”
