Two aspiring producers will get their big break on Sunday when the winners of the One80Project are announced at a free street festival in East Sydney.
The One80Project has been a four-month process to find a drama suitable for viewing across mobile, Internet and TV platforms and is funded by Optus, MTV and Sony Ericsson.
It attracted over 50 entries from around Australia and was narrowed down to 10 finalists, with the two winners to be announced this Sunday.
The first winner will be decided by a panel of judges, including actors Abbie Cornish and Joel Edgerton; Edgerton’s brother Nash, who is a director; Neil Armfield and screenwriter Alice Bell.
The second winner will be selected by the public, with voting available at www.one80project.com.au
The winners will work with production experts from MTV and will be able to shape their idea into a full-length drama to be viewed on all three platforms.
The festival starts at 6:30pm this Sunday at the corner of William and Yurong Streets in East Sydney.
