Beats by Dr Dre is set to reveal a new portable speaker system that is larger than their current model Pill.
The device which is set to take on the large Jambox is currently with the US FCC for certification.
The filing for the Beats Pill XL reveals a larger version of the company’s portable speaker, suggesting that the company may be celebrating its break-up from HTC by preparing to sell an up scaled model in the near future.
Spotted by Engadget, the Beats Pill XL is shown to have NFC pairing and connects over Bluetooth, and houses a 4,400mAh battery that can also be used to charge a connected smartphone, as well as allowing it to be portable. Though the images make it difficult to accurately read the measurements, it appears to be approximately 4 inches in diameter, and roughly between 11 and 12inches long.
The accompanying manual reveals that, aside from charging a smartphone and having an audio input jack for non-Bluetooth sound, it also has an output jack, letting it be connected up to other speakers.
