Classe has recently added to its Sigma Series, initially introduced last year, with its Sigma MONO reference monaural power amplifier.Joining the Sigma line, the Sigma MONO is equipped with increased output, with its stereo AMP2 and five-channel AMP5 making it suitable for partnering with less sensitive or more power-hungry loudspeakers.
Enhancements to its class-D design include improved circuit design, upgraded components and changes to its DSP, with the result being “an amplifier that builds on and exceeds the high standard already established by its two smaller siblings”.
The Sigma MONO additionally features a Classe-designed switch mode power supply and power factor correction circuit, each operating at over 90 per cent efficiency, and delivers 350 W RMS into 4 ohms or 700 W RMS into 8 ohms.
“Sigma Series is building an enthusiastic following, thanks not only to its transparent and effortless sound, but also because of its versatility and broad appeal,” John Martin, brand manager for Australian distributor Convoy International, commented.
“Its audio credentials satisfy the most astute listeners, while its flexibility appeals to audio and video fanatics alike. The latest Sigma MONO is ideal for those who want a high performance mono amplifier that doesn’t come with the usual space and efficiency drawbacks – or cost a fortune.”
Available now through authorised Classe Sigma dealers, the Sigma MONO carries a price tag of $5,500 RRP.
