HP is the latest IT company to announce a recall on battery components. The laptop maker has recalled 101,000 laptop batteries which it said could overheat.HP last year issued a recall of around 40,000
batteries, warning all users of affected laptops that they might well end up
with a scolded lap, or perhaps worse.
The company’s latest announcement comes after receiving a further report of a
battery overheating, melting and charring, in an incident which caused about
$1000 in property damage.
This latest recall involves batteries containing Panasonic cells that are used
in HP, Compaq, ProBook, Envy, Presario, and Pavilion laptops.
