Apple Australia has confirmed, that they will go ahead with the launch of the iPad 2 in Australia on March 25th, however JB Hi Fi executives are saying that they are still unsure as to whether they will sell the product on Friday.
At this stage it’s not known whether any of the carriers, Telstra, Optus or Vodafone will sell the Apple device from March 25th or whether all sales will initally be via Apple Stores.
At the weekend there were fears that the launch could be delayed due to “big demand” for the product in the USA and looming component shortages caused by the recent earthquake in Japan.
That list of countries had originally been 26, but given the dire situation in Japan, Apple last week announced that it was delaying the launch there while the country recovers. Some European Countries also appeared to move their launch date to the 25th of April 2011.
