Leaked images believed to be of packaging for Samsung’s upcoming addition to its lower-priced Galaxy A-series range have surfaced online, touting 5G connectivity and an octa-core processor.
The images appeared on SlashLeaks over the weekend.
It’s believed the mentioned octa-core processor will be Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855 SoC, mirroring the use of a Qualcomm chip on the former flagship A70.
Other phones in the A-Series use Samsung’s own Exynos chips.
While it was previously thought the A90 wold receive a notchless display, the leaked box images spruik an Infinity-U display with a teardrop 32MP front-facing camera, again mirroring the A70.
The A90 will also retain the 6GB/128GB memory configuration of the A70, but the newer phone’s rear triple-camera array will be upped to 48MP from 32MP.
The box also mentions Super Fast Charging, likely to be 25 watts.
Battery capacity doesn’t rate a mention but if the rest of the phone is anything to go by, it will be around the same size as the 4,500mAh battery on the A70.
Local pricing and release date are yet to be confirmed.
The A70 currently sells for $649 but the A90’s 5G capabilities are likely to significantly boost its price tag.
