Lenovo has levelled-up its Legion gaming line with the latest 9th Gen Intel Core i7 mobile processors and NVIDIA GeForce GTX GPUs, plus two new additions: the Y7000 SE and IdeaPad L340 Gaming.
Intel recently announced its next-gen chip which is present in all the major players in 2019’s new gaming laptop offerings from MSI, Acer, Dell, Asus, and Razer.
Lenovo Legion Y740 (15″ from A$2,294.24, 17″ from A$3,039.20)
The Lenovo Legion Y740 ships with the latest 9th Gen Intel Core i7 mobile processor, Dolby Atmos speakers with Dolby Sound Radar and optional 32GB DDR4 2666Mhz memory.
NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 2080 with Max-Q design or the latest GeForce GTX 1660 Ti GPUs are available options on both the 15 and 17-inch versions.
It features 144Hz refresh rate Full HD (1920 x 1080) display plus NVIDIA G-SYNC that supports Dolby Vision and boasts a brighter screen at up to 500 nits.
Like most gaming laptops on the market, it also features an RGB backlit keyboard — and system lighting — from Corsair iCue with customisation options.
Lenovo Legion Y540 (15″ from US$929.99, 17″ from US$989.99) and Y545/Y7000p (from US$979.99)
Also available in both 15-inch and 17-inch sizes, the Legion Y540 offers up to a GeForce RTX 2060 GPU and 9th Gen Intel Core i7 mobile processor, at an “accessible price point”.
Lenovo claims the machine can provide up to six hours of battery life and includes the Legion Coldfront dual fan to prevent overheating.
The notebook features a simple white backlit keyboard with under 1ms input response time.
The Y540 also includes Harman Kardon speakers and supports Dolby Atmos for an immersive gaming experience.
Like the Y540, the Y545/Y7000p offers up to the new 9th Gen Intel Core i7 mobile processor and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 GPU, with the option to upgrade to GeForce GTX 1660 Ti and 1650 GPU.
Lenovo claims the Y545/Y7000p delivers “desktop-like performance” in a portable machine.
Lenovo Legion Y7000 SE — pricing to be announced
The 15″ Lenovo Legion Y7000 SE features a red “Y” lighting logo on its rear and a full-sized red-backlit keyboard.
Like the rest of the line, it too offers up to the 9th Gen Intel Core i7 mobile processor and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 GPU with the option to upgrade to GeForce GTX 1660 Ti or 1650 GPUs.
Its thin bezels frame more than two million pixels into its 15-inch Full HD display with a 144 Hz refresh rate, 300 nits of brightness, and an IPS antiglare screen.
IdeaPad L340 Gaming
For covert gamers, Lenovo offers the multiuse IdeaPad L340 Gaming with cool blue lighting that features ‘Quick’ mode for gaming and ‘Quiet’ mode for working.
Available in 15-inch or 17-inch, the Lenovo IdeaPad L340 Gaming also offers up to the latest 9th Gen Intel Core i7 mobile processor, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 GPUs, and Dolby Audio.
