Microsoft have announced an expansion to a program that trains companies on mixed reality, including its own HoloLens technology.
The new Mixed Reality Partner Program will enable more mixed reality solutions to be created across a wide range of industries.
System integrators (SIs) and digital agencies are now being welcomed into the expanded program, which has helped Microsoft customers like Boeing, Cirque du Soleil, PGA Tour and Real Madrid to create mixed reality proof-of-concepts, pilots and deployments.
“We’ve learned that successful mixed reality solutions are built on great experiences — and those experiences require both a creative design component and a strong competency in application and infrastructure integration and deployment,” said head of Microsoft HoloLens product marketing Jeff Hansen.
“SIs around the world already know how to build, support, integrate, and extend Microsoft technologies to meet their customers’ business and IT goals. As members of the Mixed Reality Partner Program, these SIs, and digital/creative agencies will play a critical role in building 3D and mixed reality experiences for enterprise commercial customers.”
As part of the program, eligible partners undertake a “multi-week readiness program” covering in-depth technical training, as well as sales and marketing readiness, on mixed reality solutions. Partners may also be able to qualify for additional support upon completion for engineering, marketing and sales.
