Windows Mobile 7 was supposed to be an all new operating system that would take on the Apple iPhone and Android devices, now the small amount of consumers who actually went out and purchased a WP7 Smartphone, are being left with a bad taste in their mouth with many of the phones falling over due to upgrade problems.
After issuing an update to Samsung Window’s phones last week due to problems, Microsoft is now having to handle complaints that even the update has been compromised with users claiming that they now get an “error code” according to several forums.
As usual Microsoft is saying “we are aware of the problem and we are working to fix it”. They have told WP7 owners not to try and install the update again.
The WP7 has only managed to get 2.5% global market share despite Microsoft spending hundreds of millions promoting the platform
This is not the first time that Microsoft has had a problem with a WP7 update. Last month one in 10 users was unable to successfully install the software update that was being issued because of problems with the OS.
