Microsoft’s first Windows Phone 8.1 smartphone to reach Australia – the Lumia 630, which Microsoft acquired with its recently completed acquisition of Nokia’s smartphone business – will go on sale in Australia on May 27, Microsoft has announced.
Available in a range of five bright colours, the Lumia 630 will be available for outright purchase through Harvey Norman, JB Hi-Fi, Dick Smith, Officeworks and other retailers for a recommended $249, and will also be available on prepaid plans via Vodafone from June 4 for $179 prepaid.
New features to come with WinPhone 8.1 include one-swipe notifications, faster socialising via the Word Flow keyboard, and access to Xbox games.
The phone has a 4.5-in. LCD display, a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor and a 5MP camera.
