Networking company Netgear has added improved security to its suite of Orbi Mesh wi-fi products to protect users from cyber attacks targeting IoT and connected devices.
Netgear Armor Cyber Threat Protection is a network based security solution, meaning all devices connected across the network are protected from viruses and malware.
While many people already have internet security on their personal computers and phones, Armor provides security for connected devices like smart cameras and locks, which ironically might provide a security vulnerability.
Juniper Research has forecast a 175 per cent increase in cyber-theft in the years leading up to 2023, with more than 33 billion personal and financial records expected to fall into the hands of hackers in 2023 alone.
Armor continuously scans for threats and alerts users through the Orbi app.
Armor also includes Bitdefender Total Security for install on Windows, Mac, Android and iOS devices for protection when away from the Orbi network.
Netgear Armor is now available in Australia and New Zealand on Orbi systems with an Orbi RBR50 router for A$99.99 per year after a 30-day free trial.
