Optoma has introduced an upgraded version of its low-cost DLP HD27 home entertainment projector. The new HD27e has a bump in image brightness and runs quieter, at 25dB, says the brand.
Connections include two HDMI inputs, one with MHL support. There’s also a USB power port, allowing the self-contained use of an HDMI dongle, such as Amazon Fire or Chromecast. The projector features an integrated 10W speaker, but there’s an audio output for external sound systems if required.
The budget Full HD projector outputs a bright 3400 lumens, enough for ambient lit media rooms. An RGBRGB colour wheel covers the Rec 709 colour space. A dedicated gaming mode is available to reduce input lag. The projector is compatible with Optoma’s WHD200 wireless HDMI transmitter.
The HD27e weighs in at 2.8kg, making it easy to accommodate or move around. The throw ratio is 1.47:1 -1.62:1.

No word on Australian pricing but it retails in the UK for £599.
