Philips has expanded its popular “Hue” smart lights range to the great outdoors. The company’s latest outdoor smart lights are designed to work with existing fixtures in Philips’ smart lights family.
Philips’ Hue indoor smart lights are currently sold at several authorised Australian retailers, including Kogan.com.
The Hue outdoor smart lights will launch in the United States later this year, with Australian pricing and availability yet to be confirmed.
For easy app-based control, consumers simply have to add the outdoor smart lights to their ‘Philips Hue bridge’.
Philips’ Hue lights are remotely controlled via the connected app, with location awareness feature triggering lights to switch on once a person arrives home. Lights can also be scheduled to automatically turn on/off throughout the day.
As part of its new range, Philips is introducing three wall-mounted fixture styles; the Inara [800 lumens ~US$50], Lucca [800 lumens ~US$60] and Ludere 2,600 lumens ~US$130].
The company claims all three variations offer excellent light distribution, and are suited to illuminating a rear back door, or sitting on top of a garage.
Philips has also debuted its new Hue White PAR38 light bulb [1,300 lumens ~$US30 – $60], which can be easily screwed into existing outdoor lighting fixtures.
The new Philips Hue Lily is designed for placing within garden beds [640 lumens per light]. Its base pack with three spotlights will retail for ~US$280.
Designed for illuminating outdoor paths, Philips Hue Calla comes in a base pack with one bollard and installation accessories [~US$130]. Consumers can choose from a range of colours.
