The UPMC, or Origami project, is set to become a Media Center Extender as well, Microsoft has revealed.
By acting as a Media Center Extender, users will be able to stream music, movies and live TV anywhere in the house from a Media Center PC.
According to CE Pro, Microsoft has confirmed “there will be some kind of Media Center integration for Origami, but the exact implementation is still under development”.
Products such as Asus’ R2H come with a large 7 inch touchscreen, 30GB hard drive, built-in webcam, GPS and biometric security fingerprint security solution, and as owners of the Xbox 360 know, the addition of MCX capability makes it a potentially killer gadget.
Several companies are reported to be working on their own MCX devices, but the Xbox 360 is the only one available in Australia. Linksys has released its own MCX overseas, the WMCE54AG.
