Christmas has come early for ten American families who will receive a complete Panasonic high-definition home entertainment package including laptops, printers, camcorders and cameras, in return for allowing the electronics giant to monitor how the family interacts with the gadgets over the course of a year. The ‘winners’ of the competition, called Living In HD, were required to answer creative questions such as “What Does A Modern Family Mean to You?” and “What Type of Public Service Announcement Would Your Family Make?” to receive the gear.
Panasonic’s aim is the gauge how the latest high definition technology can enrich the average lifestyle, and will use the data it collects in future product development and marketing.
Ten families will receive a large screen 1080p plasma HDTV, HD camcorder, LUMIX digital cameras, Blu-ray Disc player, Toughbook laptop and photo printer, home theatre system and gaming system.
Panasonic will grow the number of families involved to thirty throughout 2008.
