Pioneer Electronics will release a range of high-fidelity products in the Australian market under the brand-name Technical Audio Devices (TAD) Laboratories Inc, following the roll-out of new TAD offerings at the recent Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.
Despite operating in the US for close to 30 years as a wholly-owned yet separate entity, the TAD brand will enter the local market for the first time in the second half of this year, bringing with it Pioneer’s trusted past in audiophile-grade speakers.
“Despite overwhelming industry interest in the flat panel TV market, Pioneer refuses to neglect its commitment to high fidelity audio, further enriching our 70-year history in speaker production with the formation of a new audio subsidiary called Technical Audio Devices (TAD) Laboratories Inc,” said Pioneer Electronics Australia home electronics product manager, Tony Trent.
TAD’s past has been in the professional services industry, servicing world class studios around the world including Pixar studios, Skywalker Ranch and AIR studios.
TAD’s new range, including the ‘Excellence Series’ speakers, will represent the first time TAD products have entered the home realm, as showcased at CES.
“The welcomed addition of the new audio subsidiary opens up the door for the Australian release of TAD products during the second-half of 2008,” said Trent.
“The Australian release of TAD products will only further enhance our position in the specialist channel, complimenting our current range of two-channel audio players and our ‘Excellence Series’ speakers, which are exclusively sold by specialists.”
