Following several weeks of rumours, Google’s own website has accidentally confirmed a “lite” version of the flagship Pixel 3 – the forthcoming new “Pixel 3a.”

The page has since been taken down, but not before internet sleuths were able to circulate screenshots.

The slip up was spotted by 9to5Google  alongside the previously leaked Nest Hub Max.

Previous to 9to5Google’s report, a Redditor uncovered a treasure trove of data from Google’s Play Console offering spec sheets of two new phones codenamed “bonito” (medium-sized predatory fish) and “sargo” (white seabream fish).

The name “Pixel 3a XL” was previously spotted by XDA-developers in Android Q’s beta code, hinting that this is one of these unearthed devices.

According to the uncovered info, the devices will be 5.6-inch and 6.0-inch in size, with 1080p OLED displays, run Android 9 Pie Snapdragon 670 processors, with 12MP rear cameras and 3,000 mAh battery

The devices are tipped to launch as soon as Google’s I/O developer conference slated for May, ahead of the usual October launch for Pixel devices.
