Plantronics, Inc., the parent company of Poly — formerly Plantronics and Polycom — has announced the “Poly G7500”, an all-in-one content and 4K video conferencing solution for enterprise consumers.
The G7500 integrates advanced audio features, wireless content sharing and Ultra HD 4K video to provide an immersive conferencing experience for mid- to large-sized conference rooms.
The conferencing solution features an easy-to-navigate and customizable interface for both touch and non-touch displays plus secure and guest network capabilities for all connected devices.
To encourage collaboration the conferencing solutions enables “infinite whiteboarding”, meaning users can write over existing content, use the screen as a whiteboard space, and capture for later use or share to or from any connected device.
Poly has integrated its own proprietary NoiseBlock and Acoustic Fence technology to minimise background and ambient noise while optimising in-room stereo audio.
The G7500 supports connectivity to any cloud-based video platform or ecosystem including Zoom, Cisco Webex, GoToMeeting, Microsoft Teams and Skype for Business via Polycom’s RealConnect Service.
Poly claims the device’s Ultra HD 4K video will provide four times the quality in video calls and for training purposes.
Although The G7500 is intended as an enterprise solution, Poly indicates that it has proven useful for various implementations — including healthcare.
“The advancements and capabilities of the G7500 will dramatically improve the quality of our surgical education and training program,” said professor Dr Wilko Grolman, an otolaryngologist based in the Netherlands.
“With 4K resolution, we are one step closer to viewing the procedure as though it’s through the surgeon’s eyes.”
The Poly G7500 is currently available in North America and Europe and will ship to other select markets, including Australia later this year. Quote available upon request.
