Japanese audio brand Marantz has unveiled two new updates to its line of home theatre receivers, boasting lower HDMI latency and the ability to listen to one source while watching another.
The 7.2 channel SR5014 and 9.2 channel SR6014 power up to 100 watts and 110 watts per channel respectively, and support multi-room wireless audio through HEOS.
Voice commands are supported by Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, Siri, and Josh.ai, and Marantz said the new receivers have been designed with custom integrators in mind, featuring remote monitoring and management as well as IP control capabilities.
AirPlay 2 and Bluetooth are also included, with support for Bluetooth headphone output to be added via an update.
Both receivers feature eight HDMI inputs supporting 4K, enhanced audio return channel, and auto low latency mode, providing more immersive and responsive gaming when combined with the right hardware.
The SR5014 has two HDMI outputs while the SR6014 comes with three.
Newly included HDMI Multiple Input Assign allows users to simultaneously output sound from one source and vision from another.
Both receivers are capable of decoding hi-res audio up to 24bit/192-kHz ALAC, FLAC and WAV files and DSD 2.8/5.6MHz.
The two receivers are updates to the existing SR50123 and SR6013 and are expected to go on sale in Australia in the first week of October.
Local pricing is yet to be confirmed but it’s expected both will be around the same price as the receivers they replace, which currently retail for A$1780 and A$2440 respectively.
