Samsung has released a new member to its tablet family, the Galaxy Tab A 8.0 which the company says has a longer lasting battery, a sleek, refined look and increased onboard memory with expandable storage.
The Galaxy Tab A 8.0 has a 14-hour battery boasting 16GB of storage with expandable memory up to 256GB. Samsung also says the Tab A 8.0 has a bright and immersive display that can be used under bright sunlight.
Samsung says the tab has an optional blue light filter balancing the brightness and helping reduce eye strain, making it easier to view content at night and in dim lighting settings.
Garry McGregor, director, IT and Mobile Samsung Electronics Australia says, “At Samsung, we want Australians to have choice when it comes to the technology they use, and ensure it meets their needs. The Galaxy Tab A 8.0 is designed for the whole family. It’s the tablet that’s easy to use whether you’re out and about or curled up on the couch, with long-lasting battery life to get everyone through the day.”
The tablet has a new ‘Home Mode’ where it can be configured to show up to three displays, providing quick glances at information like calendars, weather or photos. With Multi User Mode up to eight people can have their own login to tailor the tablet to their own specifications with special apps and settings.
The Galaxy Tab A 8.0 camera has a 5MP F2.2 front and 8MP F1.9 rear cameras designed to capture photos in all lighting, the camera also has what Samsung says is a intuitive camera interface, making it easier to capture photos from any angle and switch between camera and video modes.
The tablet comes in a black or silver finish. The Galaxy Tab A 8.0 is now available through many retailers including Samsung online and retail stores, JB Hi-Fi, Bing Lee, The Good Guys and Harvey Norman. The WiFi Galaxy Tab A 8.0 will be priced at $329 and the 4G model will be priced at $479.
