A patent has been submitted by Sony Interactive Entertainment for a new PSVR controller for the company’s PlayStation VR headset.

At the moment the PlayStation Move controllers from the PS3 are the current handset for the VR device. Reports say this controller is at the bottom of the chain when it comes to VR handsets.

The new controller seems to be sturdy with an analogue stick to be controlled by the thumb with five surrounding buttons and a trigger that can be controlled with the index finger.

The analogue stick is no where to be seen on the current controllers. The patent was submitted in Japan and you can read more about it here.

The PlayStation VR headset was released last month in Australia and retails at $549.
