Nintendo and partner Comcast have announced plans for theme parks featuring Super Mario and other Nintendo videogame characters. The theme rides and attractions will be built at parks
in Florida, Los Angeles and Osaka, Japan. They will include rides,
restaurants and other forms of entertainment.
Comcast’s theme-park revenue grew 60 percent to US$1.4 million in the third
quarter, thanks in part to the launch of a Harry Potter-themed venue in Los
Angeles.
Like the young wizard, Nintendo has a full stable of entertaining or chilly
characters that it can pull out of a hat, such as the elflike warrior Link.
