TCL has staked out a position in the wearables market with a range of new products unveiled at CES 2021, including pet trackers, true wireless earbuds, and a pair of display glasses.
The TCL MOVETRACK pet tracker comes in three different colours, and attaches to a dog’s collar to provide real-time location tracking with technologies including GPS and Wi-Fi. Users are able to create a virtual leash using Bluetooth and receive a notification when their pet leaves an editable area up to 10 metres, and an e-badge QR code enables finders of lost pets to easily contact the owner. It will be available in global markets from autumn this year.
Also revealed were the MOVEAUDIO S600 true wireless earbuds, featuring hybrid active noise cancelling and transparency mode. The buds are Bluetooth 5.0 compatible and work with Google Assistant, plus feature touch controls and IP54 water protection. According to TCL, they offer eight hours of continuous battery life and up to 32 hours with the charging case. They will be available in global markets from February.
In a more off-beat display offering, TCL also showed off the Wearable Display, the first commercially-available followup to its Project Archery. The Wearable Display is a pair of glasses with dual 1080p Full HD micro OLED displays, and can connect to smartphones, tablets, laptops, and 2-in-1 PCs via USB-C; it is expected to release later this year.
The new wearables are a big step forward for the company, said Stefan Streit, General Manager of Global Marketing for TCL Communication.
“It is a thrill to introduce a truly new and unique type of wearable product that leverages years of research and TCL’s expertise in display manufacturing, as well as new premium devices that enhance our lives as well as the lives of our pets.
“Today’s announcements show that we continue to build and grow our already robust ecosystem by expanding further into the wearable and audio product categories,” he said.
