Finally, the Technics brand is back in Australia after an absence of several years.
Panasonic the owners of the iconic brand that is 55 years old, is currently rolling out turntables, noise-cancelling and DJ headphones as well as a range of premium networked speakers that will be sold at a select group of specialist retailers according to CEO Paul Read.
The Company is looking to take advantage of a surge in record player and vinyl sales with the Japanese Company claiming that vinyl sales in Australia have already reached $40M Vs $400M in sales of streaming content.
Panasonic discontinued the brand for most products in October 2010, but it was revived in 2015 with new high-end turntables.
The brand is best known for the Technics SL-1200 DJ turntable, an industry standard for decades, this is one of the new products set to be launched in Australia. 
Also among the new products being introduced is the OTTAVA Series networked speakers that will go head to head against the new Bowers & Wilkins speakers, the aging Bluesound speakers and the popular Heos 24-bit speakers.
The Technics series will consist of the Premium Compact Stereo System SC-C70: $1649 RRP, Premium Wireless Speaker System SC-C50: $1429 RRP, and the Compact Wireless Speaker System SC-C30: $1149 RRP.
Also being launched is the Technics EAH-DJ1200 DJ Headphones feature a contemporary matte black finish.
The EAH-DJ1200 is a successor model to the RP-DJ1200, launched in 1996.
Panasonic claims that the new headphones which have swivel cups provide precise monitoring of the beat even in large-volume sound environments.
A key feature is a new 40mm Driver that uses a 40mm-diameter CCAW voice coil.
It achieves clear, detailed sound, and high-durability input (2,500 mW) with no distortion even at high volumes Panasonic said at their Sydney launch. They also claimed that DJ play in high-volume surroundings is not buried in noise and monitoring is comfortable.
Pricing for the new headphone has not been announced.
Technics made their name selling turntables and their new pro range set to go on sale at select dealers.
The range includes the acclaimed Technics Grand Class SL-1200G Direct Drive Turntable will spearhead a lineup of four turntables unveiled today in Australia.
The top-end model is the $6,999 SL-1200G which is designed for audiophiles looking to reconnect with analogue vinyl discs the Company said.
