Telstra has launched a new app that turns compatible mobile devices into home phone handsets, allowing users to make and receive calls at home phone rates. The Telstra T-Voice app, which Telstra states is an Australian-first innovation, employs the same technology platform as Telstra’s home phone network. It is compatible with the Telstra Gateway Max and T-Gateway on the NBN and ADSL networks.
“If you’re on a Telstra ADSL or NBN broadband service, you can now download the free T-Voice app onto compatible tablets and devices to make and receive calls at home phone rates, giving you greater choice, convenience and value whilst at home,” Jennifer Douglas, Telstra fixed voice and premium service director, today stated via the Telstra Exchange blog, announcing the launch of the app.
“The app can be downloaded on up to seven compatible devices within the home, and innovatively uses the same technology platform as Telstra’s existing home phone network to provide you with the same clear, high-quality and reliable calling experience you have come to expect from your Telstra home phone service.”
Users can manage home phone features such as MessageBank, call forward or call waiting, via the touch of a screen, without having to remember or dial short codes, and can share contacts from smart devices with the T-Voice app and other T-Voice app-enabled smartphones and tablets on the same gateway.
T-Voice, available for iOS and Android, is now available for download via Apple’s App Store and Google Play.
