The tethered pricing for the new Apple iPhone 3GS on the Optus network has been announced.
Under the new plan consumers will be able to use their iPhone 3G as a modem and connect a personal computer to the internet as long as you are located within the Optus 3G network coverage area.
All you have to do is add an iPhone as modem and access the Optus network for a minimum of $9.99 a month. Once activated, you can use the data included your iPhone 3G plan to access the internet when your iPhone is connected to your computer via USB or Bluetooth (tethered modem).
The iPhone as Modem access plan has a monthly fee of $9.99 but a limited time offer will credit your account with $9.99
when you have selected a $9.99 or above Mobile Internet Pack.
If you need more data, you can purchase one of their Mobile Internet Pack’s for additional data on top of your plan’s included data allowance. These range from 25MB to 6GB and all come with 35 cents per Megabyte excess charges

200MB – $9.99
500MB – $14.99
1GB – $19.99
2GB – $24.99
6GB – $44.99
The Mobile as Modem 2GB and 6GB packs are only available to iPhone customers who take an iPhone as Modem Access.
